The UAE currently has 28 projects in progress, of which seven have passed the financing stage. Hydrogen is expected to play a key role in the UAE economy and industry in the coming years.
The UAE will use hydrogen not only for domestic use, but also for export to the EU, the volume of which can reach 10 million tons of hydrogen by 2030.Globally, 520 million tons of hydrogen will be needed to achieve net-zero targets by 2050, according to the International Energy Agency.
French investment bank Natixis estimates that investment in hydrogen will exceed 300 billion dollars by 2030.
The UAE will present its national hydrogen strategy in April.
