On December 9, the second business breakfast organized by the UAE Embassy in Russia and Business Russia took place in Moscow. This time, the participants of the meeting focused on the development of cooperation in the field of high technologies. The event was attended by representatives of 17 Russian companies working in the sector of artificial intelligence, IT, renewable energy, robotics, innovative engineering. All of them presented their projects, established direct contacts with the UAE Embassy in Russia and discussed plans for further cooperation.
The participants of the meeting were greeted by the Deputy Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the United Arab Emirates Hamad Al Habsi. According to the diplomat, today the UAE has focused its efforts on achieving the strategic goal of becoming a world leader in the field of advanced technologies by 2031. The country has announced the Fourth Industrial Revolution (UAE Industry 4.0), the main goal of which is to stimulate innovation in the field of artificial intelligence, robotics, renewable and alternative energy, the Internet of Things, space technologies.
In July, the Next Generation of Foreign Direct Investments initiative was approved, aimed at attracting the strongest technical specialists and top 300 companies to the country. At the same time, cooperation with Russian business was declared a priority.
"Russia is a leading partner of the United Arab Emirates for high-tech cooperation. We see many opportunities for the implementation of joint projects. Interaction with leading Russian companies is our strategic goal," Hamad Al Habsi said.
Khaled Alnuaimi, Project Manager at the Ministry of Artificial Intelligence, Digital Economy and Remote Work Applications also addressed representatives of Russian companies. He said that the Ministry had been established in 2017 and presented the UAE National Strategy for Artificial Intelligence 2031.
According to Khaled Alnuaimi, the first step towards the development of AI in the UAE was the launch of e-government 20 years ago. Today, the UAE is one of the leading countries in the introduction of AI technologies. The implementation of the AI Strategy 2031 is based on three key pillars: 1 - building a solid foundation; 2 - implementing AI initiatives and activities; 3 - innovating the AI sector worldwide.
In 2020, the Ministry initiated the establishment of a programmers' (coders') headquarters, where seminars, competitions, certification sessions, conferences, as well as motivational talks by high-tech luminaries such as Steve Wozniak, Sheryl Sandberg and others, take place. More than 3,000 programmers from around the world have participated in these initiatives.
There are five artificial intelligence laboratories in the UAE working on specific tasks in the oil and gas sector, healthcare, and other fields. More than 4,000 research papers devoted to artificial intelligence have been published.
The main task of the Ministry is to provide the data and supporting infrastructure necessary for testing, as well as to create regulatory instruments in the field of AI. The UAE National AI Strategy 2031, the manual on artificial intelligence, and the manual on blockchain were created for this purpose.
Khaled Alnuaimi called on Russian companies to actively cooperate and pledged to provide assistance in promoting the most interesting solutions in the field of artificial intelligence.
According to Maksim Zagornov, Business Ambassador of Business Russia to the UAE, the United Arab Emirates and Russia have a reciprocal interest in high-tech cooperation. The Emirati partners have a stake in the transfer of advanced technologies, and the Russian business is interested in the implementation of expensive projects and investment support from the UAE. "We see great prospects in this partnership," Maksim Zagornov emphasized.
During the meeting, representatives of 17 Russian companies presented their projects: Android Technics, SPA, Geoscan Group, Motorica, LLC, Unigreen Energy Group, MKDG, Falcon Soft Group, Sovtest ATE, LLC, ReinnoLC, Inpro Digital, LLC, Globus IT, Wone IT, BizApps, Air To MC2 FZ LLC, Energotransproekt, UralPozhTekhVooruzhenie, CJSC, TMC Group, PARLI.
The projects of these companies were highly praised by Emirati diplomats. Direct contacts were established with the UAE Embassy in Russia, and plans for further cooperation were discussed.
It should be noted that this business breakfast was the second December project of the UAE Embassy in Russia and Business Russia. The day before, a meeting with Russian companies on cooperation in the field of food security had taken place. By decision of the UAE Embassy in Russia and Business Russia, such business breakfasts will be held regularly.
