On October 27, Business Ambassador of Business Russia to the UAE Maksim Zagornov had a meeting with Director Commercial of the Khalifa Industrial Zone (KIZAD) Khalid Al Marzooqi. In the course of the meeting, there were discussed the issues of business association companies’ operation in the UAE market, the advantages of Abu Dhabi as a logistics hub for organizing exports and running a business in the Middle East region, as well as the logistics capabilities of the Khalifa Port (KIZAD) for international trade.
As Maksim Zagornov, Business Ambassador of Business Russia to the UAE, noted during the meeting, the interaction of the business association with the Emirate of Abu Dhabi is currently actively developing. Business Russia and the Abu Dhabi Chamber of Commerce and Industry have signed a cooperation agreement, organizational work on opening a Trading house is underway, and a pool of Russian companies planning export activities to the UAE has been assembled. The Khalifa Industrial Zone Abu Dhabi (KIZAD) has been chosen as the base platform for the implementation of export projects.
«At the moment, we are observing a particular request from Business Russia companies to intensify cooperation with the UAE. Russian business is ready to offer the Emirates advanced technologies, high-tech products in a variety of industries. The Russian Trading House, which we will open in the KIZAD Industrial Zone, will provide comprehensive support for bringing our companies to the Emirati market: from the targeted selection of partners to the conclusion of a contract and the delivery and storage of goods», Maksim Zagornov said.
Khalid Al Marzooqi, Director Commercial of the Khalifa Industrial Zone Abu Dhabi (KIZAD), confirmed that the Khalifa Zone (KIZAD) has unique transport accessibility. There are direct sea routes from the port of Khalifa to 70 international ports, it is a logistics hub for more than 1,000 sea routes. A railway line will be brought up soon.
«All this makes the Khalifa zone a convenient platform for localization of production or organization of export to the UAE, as well as re-export to other countries», Khalid Al Marzooqi highlighted.
Now, more than 1,400 companies from different countries of the world are registered in KIZAD. According to Khalid Al Marzooqi, the main sectors developing in KIZAD are polymer production, metallurgy, food industry, automotive industry, oil and gas industry, logistics, chemical industry, pharmaceutical industry, energy.
During the meeting, the parties agreed on cooperation in the field of foreign economic activity of Business Russia companies. Khalid Al Marzooqi pledged to assist in organizing the work of the Russian Trading House in the Khalifa Industrial Zone Abu Dhabi (KIZAD).
