On February 7, the 4th Meeting of the Working Group on Industry, Investment and Innovation of the Russian-Emirati Intergovernmental Commission ended in Dubai. The final point of the two-day event was the signing of the Minutes of the Meeting by the Working Group cochairmen - Alexey Gruzdev, Deputy Minister of Industry and Trade of the Russian Federation and Omar Al Suwaidi, Undersecretary of the Ministry of Industry and Advanced Technology in the UAE. The government document includes proposals of Business Russia also.
The Minutes of the Meeting consolidated the agreements reached during the two-day negotiations regarding strengthening trade and economic cooperation between Russia and the United Arab Emirates. As you remember, a wide range of bilateral cooperation issues was discussed at the meetings, including trade, economic and investment collaboration, energy (including hydrogen technologies and renewable energy sources), aircraft and automobile production, digital technologies, pharmaceuticals, fertilizers, waste processing, seawater desalination and others.
The following Russian companies took place in the negotiations: Yandex, Russian Railways, Metalloinvest, TMH, KAMAZ, Rusatom International Network, MKC, Severstal, Rostelecom, Kaspersky Lab and others.
The Emirati side was represented by ADNOC, Tawazun, Mubadala, Strata, AD Ports, DEWA, G42, Falcon Technologies, Tadweer, Gulf Extrusions, University of Artificial Intelligence (MBZUAI), the Advanced Technology Research Council (ATRC) and others.
The most promising cooperation fields were determined in the course of the Russian-Arabian negotiations as well as a definite action plan of bilateral cooperation development was evolved.
Maksim Zagornov, Business Ambassador of Business Russia to the UAE, presented his proposals for the meeting as well. He underlined the importance of developing business cooperation between small and medium-sized businesses of Russia and the UAE by arranging business missions, joint events with the UAE Embassy in the Russian Federation, as well as establishing joint production sites in the UAE.
To sum up the meeting, Alexey Gruzdev, Deputy Minister of Industry and Trade of the Russian Federation expressed his hope for a further increase in trade turnover between the countries, from both sides.
The next meeting of the Working Group on Industry, Investment and Innovation of the Russian-Emirati Intergovernmental Commission was proposed to be held in Moscow.
